The story of Pineapple Pink

Where did the name come from?

“It’s a long story but we think its fun and catchy AF!”

How would you describe the restaurant?

“For the Gram!  Its like holiday food but we have put a lot of thought into making it healthy so you don’t need to feel bad eating a burger or Pancakes.”

What’s it like to work with your brother and sister?

“Really easy.  We have always been great friends.  We put that down to the fact that there’s only one sister so no bitchiness.  We seem to think in a similar way and we all have different strengths.”

Why did you open the restaurant in its current location?

“There’s a great big underground car park… and its free!  Also, we are centrally located to a lot of great towns (Malahide, Swords, Portmarnock, Clongriffin, Kinsealy, Sutton, Howth, Clontarf).”

Why the focus on healthier food?

“There has been a massive culture shift in Dublin over the past number of years.  People are no longer planning their weekends around a big pub night.  They are getting up early on the weekends and being active.  They are doing a park run or walking their dog and then meeting family and friends for brunch.  Pineapple Pink is for you lovely, active people!”

What’s the most popular dish?

“Its tight between the Protein Pancakes and the Twisted Irish Breakfast.  The Bangin’ Burrito isn’t too far behind either.”

Do you have a favourite dish yourselves?

“Chris: House Skinny Pizza, Susan: Vegan Bowl, Jordan: Twisted Irish.  You can’t eat pancakes every day.”

Would you consider opening for dinner?

“Never say Never.  For the moment we are happy opening for private functions in the evenings.  Otherwise its all about healthy breakfast and healthy lunch!”
